It seems like only last week when I was back in school. Sitting in a class having to endure the bubbling of an elite array of teachers that could bore the life out of a 7000 year old grave yard. It was terrible I must say. So much so that its a miracle that I even learned something out of some of those classes.

How did I pass the time during those classes? I am glad that question came up. Over the years I horned my skills in drawing stick figures that represented my teachers… heck! Not only did I draw stick figures, I even threw in details and some turned out to be master-pieces I must add, and tried to capture the most memorable moments of the bloopers they made.

Anyway that is an era gone by or is it? A wise man once said.

“Old habits die hard”.

Many years have past and I am all grown up and mature. Or am I? I still find myself caught up in the same old habits at work. Not that I draw up stick figures. No none of that stuff, but what I find myself doing is going over to the Internet to find things to keep me busy when my brain decides to take an early vacation.

1. JigZone

This has one been one f my old time favorites. I cant really remember when I started coming out here to complete their FREE online Jigsaw puzzles. It holds quite a number of categories or puzzle galleries that you can take your pick from. Each image comes in a range of six to 247 piece puzzle cuts and you can select either one you link by selecting the link on the left. The online puzzle found here at jigzone.com also allows you to see the quickest completion time as well as the average time then allows you to track your time too. 2. Crystal Galaxy

Here is a game by Effect Games that I love to play when I am not thinking too much. It is a HTML5 based game built to take advantage of the new features found in HTML5. It takes advantage of the new Canvass tag features. Well the game is a Side-Scroller Arcade Game based on Asteroids Arcade game. Basically you are the ship that controlled by your mouse. You aim is to shoot at other space crafts and anything else that shoots back at you or moves.

This is a lovely game but I must say its difficulty level is quite high so for beginners I suggest you be weary of this. All in all, the graphics are amazing and the sound track works well together with the sound and visual effects. You may link to the game here and be sure to bookmark the link.

3. Another World JS

Another Javascript Game based on HTML5s Canvas Tag. The game also known as Out of This World was originally developed by Eric Chahi and now this HTML5 version developed by Gil Megidish. I found this game intriguing as I have spent time trying to figure my way out of this world. I havent yet found a way out but I am working on it. Though this version I am refereing to has a few glitches, all in all it is a great attempt. The Another World JS Game can be found and played here.

4. Wavy Scrollbars

Next we talk about what Audrey from Russia has done on this one. Based on Vervet Physics  library by toxi, this is an amazing demo of what Javascript can do to a web browser with just a little thought backing it. So for those that simply love physics and have a few moments on their hands, I guess I will point you to this location found here and let you just enjoy the demo.

5. JS Wars

Yet another Side-Scroller HTML5 gamedeveloped by Jonas Wagner. Based in space once again shooting the alien eyes and exploding things that come out at you. Just don’t let the Mine-like stuff pass you as they wont leave the screen and will continue coming at you. The music I can say is great but should have been a better sound track. The sound effects are way delayed so that that needs work. All in all its a lovely game to keep on busy. Go on go and have a shot at it and play it here.
