SI releases Numcrunch X05

The new Numcrunch Calculator code named Numcrunch X05 is finally ready for download. There was a major delay in getting this utility online.

As you go to the downloads page you will notice that this calculator has some functions missing. This was a deliberate twist on our side as I felt that it would be good to let some of the users see if they can figure out how to fill in the missing parts. In addition to that, I have also decided to change the way I develop this particular project.

For starters, in a few weeks time, I will re-release the executable this time with the functions filled in. The source code however remains as is.

Secondly I intend to release a new version of the calculator. This version will not come bundled with the source code. I am moving to make this a commercial tool. My plans are to have it evolve into a graphing calculator also packed in with several new functions. This new version is being re-written from scratch. We will no longer use MFC to code it but we will move to using the C++ win32 API. At this stage we are debating whether it should be available for other Operating Systems like Mac and Linux.

Numcrunch X05 will also be bundled free of charge with our other in-house applications that may need the use of mathematical operations in addition to its availability as a free download.
