Mutant to carry Numcrunch on into the future
One of our miniature projects, Numcrunch, a Windows based arithmetic calculator has been a household name in the corridors of SI for a pretty long while now.
It was originally coded in November 2002 and Bug fixed two months later in January 2003. This is a utility that has never been put up for sale. The source code was also made available for free download.
This calculator was intended to remain as is. No more upgrading of its code. However it was later felt that there was a need to extend its functions to make it capable of handling Scientific Functions. The second reason is that we felt it needed to grow in the parallel with SI. Other older products may not benefit from this need but as at this time since it has an overwhelming response in terms of downloads, we just had to do something.
We have now come up with a new version. The original version of Numcrunch nicknamed Numcrunch Klassique will remain available in both executable and source form. That means that the new version is basically a new product altogether.
The executable and source code for this new extended version code named Numcrunch X05 will be made available in two weeks time. Numcrunch X05 will be the last version to be released with its source code says Steve Obbayi. Further development will continue to make this product much more useful. It will be extend to have more features included that way it will be able to be used to cover functions like graphing, financials etc.
Further information about this product will be released as development continues. Even though the source code will not be released in future, the executable will be distributed via download from this site and other mirror sites in addition to other methods.
This way numcrunch X05 and subsequent versions will now become major products for Sobbayi Interactive.
