It is yet another week here and new one for that matter. That’s not the only thing that seems to be new this week. We have just unleashed SI V 3.3 web site. It comes packed with more or less one major new feature and one new section.

Firstly, We have now implemented the Weblog. This is Steves personal corner so we would rather not say much about it but just keep checking to see what comes up there.

Then again we have also decided to reintroduce the News and Articles date stamp code. We felt it was good to at least have a sense of ageing when it comes to those items. Nobody here seems to recall why it was done away with in the first place…. Maybe there was a good reason.

Alright, We’ve also brought in various tool, calculators, and other stuff to boost up the Math Lab. Ok since I have mentioned it here then its only fare that I give it some honor. The long awaited Math Lab is finally up. This section is going to grow in the weeks to come and you will surely find quite a bit of interesting stuff to hang on to. Initially we are deploying this section with a few metric and US conversion calculators and tables. We also have an online arithmetic calculator and the all so famous Multiplication table. This one is
really dynamic and all. Create patterns and see what number can do for art.

The Mailling list comes of age in this version as well. This uses the SIMaillist Manager V 2.0 to handle stuff around here. Version one was too untidy and used a simple text file to store data. This one uses a database. It was completely written from scratch. The only thing
we integrated into V 2.0 is the email validation algorithm. Otherwise other stuff is pretty new. Version one will soon be long forgotten and version two takes over.

We don’t plan to release SIMaillist V 2.0 for public use as it was built specifically to work with this site. However we are tweaking it a little bit adding this and that, purging a few bugs and making it a stand alone product which will be suitable for download and wide use. The projection here is a 2-3 weeks…. or earlier.

Finally, this Site version sees a few bugs removed and a bit of code strengthening. However in the Maillist manager we encountered a critical bug that caused us a bit of a headache when integrating the module with site. Funny thing how is was built to be embedded in the main site but it refused to work while it was not meant to work as a standalone and it did work… hm.

Well, we are busy working on our next release. It will probably be a few cosmetic changes, bug fixes and internal extensions. Hope you enjoy.
